planning: preliminary task first ideas
Our task is to film a character opening a door, walking across the room and sitting down, the character then has to exchange some dialogue between another character. This dialogue will be a knock, knock joke as it is very simple and neat.
Here is a image of my notes and ideas we made.
You have made a good start to the course and I am pleased with the evidence of work that has been posted onto your blog. You have shown that you are able to complete all of the basic tasks necessary to make your blog appealing and informative for your target audience - the OCR moderator.
ReplyDeleteYou are missing evidence of the photographs of your storyboard panels and need to publish these to your blog.
As we move forwards I would now like you to try to develop the following 2 step approach to all posts whenever possible:
Describe the task that you have completed (in detail if you want a level 4 mark)
Explain what you have learnt from completing this task (again, detail is required for level 4)
The necessary third step is not something that can be detailed in your posts but it is an important one. It is vital that you apply the learning to ensure that you produce coursework of a big standard.
So. Move from describe, to explain to apply.
Can you reply to this comment and explain to me what you have learnt from the process of storyboarding?
The task that we have completed was to record a short film using four different camera angles, shots and movements. In our short film we have two characters telling each other a knock, knock joke as this was our first time recording we kept it neat and simple. By completing this task i have learnt that a lot of planning needs to be done before you record a film such as what day you will be filming, what camera you will be using and planning your cast.
ReplyDeleteBy using a storyboard i have learnt that it visually shows what you want your film to look like it and when filming you can use it as a step by step guide of what parts you need to film.
Thanks for posting the pictures of your storyboard Jemma.
ReplyDeleteYou describe the storyboarding task well above but I would like you to consider the benefits of storyboarding a little more. What would potentially go wrong during filming if you gave no thought at all to storyboarding during the planning stage?
If you gave no thought to storyboarding then things such as what camera shots and location you will use, is going to make your filming time longer as you will be unorganised. Also if you don't give any thought to storyboarding you may start filming and then realise that your film doesn't make sense and isn't aimed at your target audience.
